Casa Meceanu

The three hundred year old house has been restored by us from scratch and by doing so also adapted to today's requirements. Thus a beautiful, harmonious coexistence of traditional craftsmanship of Maramureș and high living style has emerged. Like our other cottages, Casa Meceanu also offers a beneficial combination of antiques, paintings of Romanian artists and modern living comfort. With 140 square meters, it offers plenty of space for a relaxing and cozy stay for four people.

Casa Meceanu is situated on our large, park-like grounds, 200 meters above Casa Palaga. From the house you have a beautiful view on the abbey ”Schimbarea la față” which means: changing the expression of the face, named after the Orthodox holiday in August, when nature changes its appearance.

The house is an ideal starting point for nature and culture lovers, wanderers and hunters to explore the original environment. Excursions to monasteries and historic wooden churches are available as excursion destinations as well as the museums and market places in Sighet and the surrounding villages.

On the ground floor you will find a living room, the kitchen, the hallway and the guest toilet. The kitchen is fully equipped, from the dishwasher up to high-quality spices.

Upstairs there is one bedroom, an open sleeping area, the library and the bathroom.

In the house you will find tourist guides, hiking maps, a large collection of games and carefully and affectionately selected books for your children. Access to Internet is provided via W-LAN.
